What the work is
Employers range from transport companies, fleet operators and travel firms to government departments and public-sector companies; many delivery riders are not employees at all but partners paid for each order. The figures on this page are salaried driver posts at ISRO's U R Rao Satellite Centre in Bengaluru: light vehicle and staff car drivers with three years' experience, and heavy vehicle drivers with five.
How people enter it
A driving licence
A licence from the Regional Transport Office for the class of vehicle: a light motor vehicle licence for cars, and a transport licence for heavy goods and passenger vehicles.
Experience after the licence
Government driver posts count experience from the date of the licence. ISRO's notice asks three years for light vehicles, and five — at least three on heavy vehicles — for heavy vehicle drivers, and does not count part-time work.
Recruitment
Government driver posts are filled by a written test and a driving test; ISRO's notice also asks heavy vehicle drivers for a public service badge where the State requires one.
Platform delivery work
Delivery apps sign riders up as partners after document checks and pay per order, with incentives; the Code on Social Security, 2020 provides for social security schemes for gig and platform workers.
What the pay figures say
Two dated figures are on file. Both come from employers' own notices. The latest took effect on 24 October 2026. Each card says what the figure is; open "How the figure is read" for the method and what it leaves out.

Does this page show delivery partner earnings?
No. The figures on file are salaried government driver posts. Delivery platforms pay partners per order and have not published figures this site can cite.
