I'm a Chartered Accountant, qualified with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in November 2022, working in direct taxation and income tax compliance. I'm currently with Jobaaj.com, based in Gurgaon.
This site is where I write things down properly. Most of what I deal with day to day — a compliance deadline, a change in the Finance Act, a client question that turns out to be more interesting than it first looked — deserves more than a note in the margin. Writing it out is how I check that I actually understand it.
What I write about
- Direct tax — income tax provisions, compliance, and the practical questions that come up in applying them.
- Personal finance — the money decisions people actually face, worked through with the arithmetic shown.
- Investing — long-horizon thinking, mechanisms rather than tips.
- Corporate finance — reading financial statements, and the metrics that hold up under scrutiny.
How I write
Four rules, and I would like to be held to them:
- No affiliate links, sponsored posts, or referral codes.
- Sources named where a claim rests on research or a specific provision.
- Numbers worked through, not asserted.
- Corrections made in place and noted at the foot of the piece.
