How content is made and checked

This page sets out who writes what you read here, where the figures come from, how the calculators and data pages are built and tested, and how mistakes are put right. Money and tax pages should be held to a high standard. This is the standard I hold them to.

Who writes it

Everything on caakhilesh.in is published under my name, CA Akhilesh Kumar, a Chartered Accountant (ACA, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, 2022) based in Gurgaon. I choose every topic and every source, and I answer for every page, article, calculator and tool. This is a personal site. It is not a firm in practice, and nothing on it solicits professional work. More about my background is on the About page.

Where the figures come from

A figure on this site rests on the document that creates it, not on someone else’s summary of that document. The main sources are:

  • Income tax: the Income-tax Act, 2025 and the Income-tax Rules, 2026 as published by the Income Tax Department, and CBDT circulars and notifications.
  • GST: CBIC notifications and GST Council decisions.
  • Banking and markets: RBI, SEBI, NSE and BSE, including exchange filings and offer documents.
  • Mutual funds: AMFI’s published NAVs and the fund houses’ own scheme documents.
  • Savings schemes, insurance and electricity: India Post and the National Savings Institute, IRDAI, and each State electricity regulator’s tariff order.
  • Credit cards: each issuer’s own published terms and fee schedules.
  • Government decisions: PIB releases and the ministry documents behind them.

The site keeps a register of more than 370 such sources, and most articles end with a list of the ones they rely on, with links. News reports help me find a story, but they are never the authority for a number. A figure that cannot be traced to a primary source is left out, or it is labelled as an estimate with its working shown.

How an article is written and checked

  • Numbers are worked through on the page. You can follow each step and check it.
  • Every rate, limit, section number and date is checked against the primary text before publishing. A summary on another website does not count as proof.
  • Section references follow the Income-tax Act, 2025, in force from 1 April 2026. Where readers still know a provision by its 1961 number, the old section is given alongside.
  • The writing is original. Before publishing, each piece is compared phrase by phrase with the pages that rank for the same search.
  • Choices are set out, not made for you. Where readers face a decision, such as applying for an IPO, tendering shares in an open offer or choosing a tax regime, the piece gives the case for and against. It does not tell you what to do. There are no grey-market premium figures and no buy or sell calls.
  • Dates are on the page. Each piece shows when it was written and, if it changes, when it was updated and what changed.

How the calculators are built and tested

  • Each calculator names the rule it applies and shows its working, so a result can be checked by hand.
  • Your figures stay on your device. The calculators run in your browser, and nothing you type is sent anywhere or stored. The privacy policy has the detail.
  • They are tested against real outcomes where these exist. The IPO allotment calculator is replayed against five real allotments. The FD, RD and Post Office calculator reproduces the values in the Government’s published tables. The solar calculator works from each State regulator’s tariff order.
  • Automated tests guard them. About 60 sets of automated tests cover the calculators, the tools and the site itself, and they are run before a change goes live.
  • Rates are refreshed on a schedule: Post Office rates each quarter, bank and lender rates when they change, and tax figures with each Finance Act.

Pages built from data

Some pages are generated by code from published data rather than written one by one. Each says so, and each has its own methodology page.

  • Mutual fund pages are built from AMFI’s NAVs. They show dated returns, consistency, volatility and drawdowns. There is no ranking, no “best fund” and no buy or sell call. A fund page is kept out of search results until the fund house’s documents name its manager. How the fund figures are computed.
  • Credit card pages are built from each issuer’s published terms, with the source shown on each card. A card page is offered to search engines only once its terms are complete enough to compare. How CardWise scores a card.
  • Career and salary pages use official pay sources, such as government notifications and public-sector recruitment notices. A role page stays out of search results until it has enough sourced figures. The career data methodology.

Money and independence

  • No one pays to appear here. There are no affiliate links, sponsored posts or referral codes. No fund, card issuer, bank, lender or company pays for coverage, ranking or placement.
  • Advertising, if the site carries it, is chosen by Google, not by me. No advertiser sees a piece before it is published or has any say in it.
  • Views are my own. They are not those of my employer or of any professional body.

Corrections and updates

If a figure, a section reference or a date here is wrong, please tell me at hello@caakhilesh.in or through the contact page. Corrections come before everything else in my inbox. A correction is made in place and noted at the foot of the piece with its date. When the law changes, the affected pieces and calculators are updated and show the new date.

What this site is not

Everything here is general information written for education. It is not tax, financial, investment or legal advice, and it takes no account of your circumstances. For a decision that affects your own position, consult a professional who can see your documents. The terms of use set this out in full.
