Most join through national exams run by IBPS for 11 banks and by SBI for itself. The figures on this page cover both officer and clerical entry.

IBPS PO/MT and SBI PO: a preliminary exam, a main exam and a final stage that includes an interview.

No. A figure given as basic pay leaves out dearness allowance, house rent allowance and the other allowances paid on top of it, and it is before income tax and provident fund or NPS deductions. A figure given as cost to company (CTC) includes the employer's contributions and any variable pay, so monthly take-home is lower than CTC divided by twelve. Basic pay is the starting point of the scale. CTC adds dearness allowance, house rent allowance or leased accommodation, other allowances and the employer's contributions; SBI's notice gives an approximate CTC for a Mumbai posting.
